Visually Uninteresting

$250.00

For ‘ Body of Work’ - curated by Karlee Sangster for ok.violet.

“What I had decided after these weekends is that I had found this working in pursuit of nothingness to be very meaningful and fulfilling. I do not think it’s a matter of occupying the hours, though of course it was this too, but what I suspected was that I had let some silly consumerist momentum get its hook into me at some point, had let it inverted my expectation to fixate only on the receipts, on what interesting things I could fabricate. I became too comfortable with this capital A Art rather than what it means to be a person in the world who just…make things? Maybe the error in my categorisation of what constitute work is that I had perhaps forgotten how much work it actually takes for anything to happen? That records of the work are never actually the work itself, that the pieces made are actually what’s left over, and that the mass of all of this, not shockingly, really lies in the working?” - On Being Visually Uninteresting
